Malawi is affectionately known as the warm heart of Africa. Whilst very small, it punches well above its weight in terms of what it offers. Lake Malawi is the third largest in Africa and the country is also home to the Big Five game animals. You’ll find stunning national parks with relatively low numbers of visitors as the tourism industry is still developing here. It’s the perfect place to experience untouched nature.

Malawi is the second highest producer of tea in Africa. It’s also an incredibly safe country, rating with the same Global Peace Index score as France and as the third safest country in the continent.
But what’s the best thing about Malawi? The people. Super friendly, they always have time for a chat and it is this, in combination with the natural beauty, that makes a visit to this country an absolute must.
Our projects in Malawi, to be announced shortly, will include a variety of opportunities. You will have the chance to help in the local community, either teaching English or helping with practical work such as construction. Or perhaps you could find yourself assisting with a wildlife and conservation project.
And you will also have the chance to explore the national parks and kayak in Lake Malawi. On this trip, you can see Africa in a country which remains relatively unvisited, meaning that yours will be a truly authentic experience.
